LutraCAD, a Dutch company specializing in the development and manufacture of custom orthopedic insoles, faced growing demand from professionals who required shorter lead times and greater design flexibility. Conventional manufacturing methods limited scalability, resulting in longer production cycles and costly manual labor. With the introduction of the Raise3D RMS220 SLS solution, LutraCAD developed an end-to-end digital workflow that connects all production steps—from digital foot scanning and CAD design to additive manufacturing and post-processing. The SLS process offered the precision and design freedom that milling systems previously lacked, enabling the production of lightweight, precisely shaped insoles that are both durable and comfortable. Each insole can now be manufactured with optimal geometry, finely graded density zones, and consistently high surface quality.
