The biggest chamber size of any machine in the Support Removal series

Are you looking for a scalable solution for post-processing large quantities of FDM/FFF prints with soluble supports? The PostProcess® BASE™ is the largest automated technology specifically designed for soluble support removal of FDM/FFF components.

Marc-Oliver Heißler Account Manager

The patented PostProcess® BASE™ FDM/FFF support removal solution has the biggest envelope of any machine in the Support Removal series and produces uniform, high-quality outputs for every item, regardless of geometry, with low cycle times to satisfy high-volume production needs.

The BASE™ uses Volumetric Velocity Dispersion (VVD) technology to provide total component coverage and delivers delicate to strong support removal with better throughput. With an envelope measuring 1020 x 700 x 660 mm, the system is toughly intended for the largest additive produced objects.

Technical specifications:

Chamber Size: 1020 x 700 x 660 mm

Maximum Liquid Tank Capacity: 170 liters

Variable temperature: 29-71°C

Advantages

Meant for large quantities and large-sized FDM/FFF parts

With a stainless steel chamber size of 1020 x 700 x 660 mm, a fixture that can carry parts that weigh up to 23 kg, a liquid tank capacity of 170 liters an in-line strainer and drain, remove soluble supports that satisfies high-volume and large-sized production requirements.

Volumetric Velocity Dispersion (VVD) technology

Fast cycle times with virtually no damaged components are ensured by PostProcess' proprietary Volume Velocity Dispersion (VVD) technology, which consists of a sequence of high volume and velocity jet streams spraying bidirectionally connected with a perpendicular linear motion for mechanically aided support removal. Parts experience a powerful yet gentle, all-encompassing flow of detergent thanks to the high-volume (200 GPM), low-pressure system (35 PSI). The consistent force felt by the part once applied decreases the chance of injuring parts. The portion remains immobile as a result of the bi-directional jetting action, avoiding any potential accidents that a circulation tank could cause.

Flex Nozzles

Flex nozzles are provided for a limited number of parts to increase support removal rates on interior channels. A maximum of 26 flex nozzles can be installed at the same time.

Submersion Vortex Cell

Once you have installed a flex nozzle you can use it in conjunction with the PostProcess Submersion Vortex Cell. The best use for this is by inserting the nozzle into the hole on the bottom right of the tank for post processing a larger batch of parts with complex internal channels.

Automatic and Manual Operation Settings

The BASE™ is intended to be totally autonomous and configured to remove supports, but it can also be operated manually. There are two pumps, two blowers, two heaters, and two drain valves. Each can be managed independently. When experimenting with new geometries or parameters, manual operation may be recommended.

Intelligent Software

The BASE™ enables consistent, hands-free support removal for 3D printed parts by combining PostProcess's patented AUTOMAT3D® software program with precisely controlled energy and exclusive additive designed detergents. Intelligent cycle time programming, adjustable settings, one-touch repeatability with recipe storage, and pre-programmed preventative maintenance routines all help to speed up your operations.

Safety Features

When a warning condition is activated, the system alerts the operator to a problem that must be addressed as soon as possible. It is not necessary to stop the cycle immediately. However, warnings will eventually cause alarms, which must be addressed in order to avoid causing damage to the BASE™ or your parts. The BASE™ comes with Tank Not Full, Auto PSI High and Low, Low pH Level and Temperature Limit Exceeded warnings and Emergency Stop, Maintenance Due, Dosing Error and Motion Error Alarms among many others.
