Make prototypes that resemble the final product in colour, appearance and feel. Virtually any combination of eight materials, including one support material, may be printed simultaneously with the J850™ Prime, enabling the creation of multi-material products. The J850™ Prime streamlines and expedites the development of items, ranging from consumer goods to medical equipment.

Exquisite accuracy and smooth surfaces for parts are guaranteed by high print resolution, especially for tiny details like intricate geometries and printed images. Heat-resistant Digital ABS Plus enables functional testing at any point in the design process, and flexible materials in a variety of shore values enable accurate simulation of rubber and silicone products.

Furthermore, you can create even more precise prototypes by simulating the characteristics of engineering plastics like polypropylene using digital material mixtures.

Technical Specifications:

Build Size: 490 x 390 x 200 mm

Layer Thickness: Horizontal build layers down to 14 microns

Build Modes: 4

Advantages

Full colour J850™

The J850™ Prime offers full-colour printing capabilities, including texture mapping and colour gradients, allowing for the creation of highly realistic, full-colour prototypes. It is a coloured-upgrade to the J850™ Pro that is limited to grayscale printing.

Multi-material capabilities

Up to seven different materials and additionally one support material can be printed simultaneously using the J850™ Prime at once, allowing for the fabrication of parts with a wide range of colours and characteristics, such as stiff, flexible, transparent, and opaque materials. With this multi-material capability, customers can print jobs that mix many materials without the requirement for assembly or post-processing.

4 build modes

Four unique build modes are available on the Stratasys® J850™ Prime 3D printer to accommodate a variety of customer requirements. The highest level of accuracy and detail is achieved at a resolution of 14 microns by using up to seven base and one support resin in the High Quality Mode. The High Mix Mode, which likewise allows up to seven base and one support resin but at a somewhat lower resolution of 27 microns, is the ideal mixture between quality and printing speed. The High Speed Mode employs up to three base and one support resin at a resolution of 27 microns for faster printing of concept models.  Lastly, the Super High Speed Mode allows the fastest printing with a single base and support resin, which makes it perfect for quick iterations even if it compromises some resolution at 55 microns.

Easy-to-use

The J850™ Prime  comes with a built-in workstation with a touch screen that doesn’t require a keyboard or mouse, it has a removable tray for easy cleaning and swapping and it has a 16 4kg cartridge capacity that auto swaps when low on material.

Pantone® Color Validation

The J850™ Prime offers Pantone® colour validation, enabling 3D printing of the Pantone® Matching System (PMS) colours. Compared to traditional paint matching or iterative colour matching techniques, this capability saves time and costs by enabling exact colour matching and the construction of colourful, realistic prototypes.

Design Realism

Design using more than 650,000+ distinguishable colour combinations plus clear and attain texture realism from matte to glossy surfaces, simulating materials like leather, wood, stone and more with horizontal build layers down to 14 - 55 µm layer thickness.

Simple workflow

Simplify your processes with the GrabCAD Print™ software that enables you to print straight from the design program of your choice. It supports multiple native CAD formats as well as file formats including 3MF, OBJ/VRML, and STEP. In-depth previews of your model are also available, allowing you to make changes before printing. Additionally, frequently updated smart default settings like tooltips, notifications, and texture recognition will let you print files with ease.
