Additive Automation GmbH, based in Karlsbad, Baden-Württemberg, was founded in 2021 and is part of the Neck Enterprise. In just three years since its foundation, Additive Automation has become one of the largest solution providers for fully automated production cells in industrial 3D printing – thanks in particular to its magnum opus, the V1 production cell.
From development project to market leader
Although industrial 3D printers are usually highly autonomous systems, there are still steps that have to be taken by hand – in particular, building board handling and post-processing. The application experts at ProductionToGo also wanted to automate these steps using a robotic arm and started a development project with this goal in mind.
This should culminate in the V1 production cell. In this cell, the printing process and the cleaning of resin parts are almost completely automated, enabling 24/7 production – even on weekends or holidays. In 2021, this development project was finally spun off into a separate company and has since been providing customers and partners worldwide with the highly productive automation solution.
Full automation in the portfolio
We were never satisfied with simply offering systems and solutions from other manufacturers, but were always involved in research and development in the field of 3D printing. The greatest success of this involvement is the Production Cell V1, with which we are making the leap to truly automated manufacturing for our customers and partners.
But even with that, we are not yet satisfied. We continue to work relentlessly to further develop the production cell to include even more production steps, to automate further printing technologies and to make this solution available to even more industries.
